Let’s start 2017 off with some kindness! Let’s take a look at the top 10 countries who are the kindest to strangers.
We’re not going to lie, there has been some depressing headlines lately. Most people are glad 2016 is done.
Some good news shared in an article by the World Economic Forum said that kindness thrives in harsh settings. This information comes from the latest CAF World Giving Index, an annual report that tracks levels of generosity around the world.
Charities Aid Foundation published the results in December 2016. One question asked to respondents was if they had helped a stranger within the past month. Here were the countries with the highest percentages of respondents.

- Libya (79%)
- Kuwait (78%)
- Somalia (77%)
- United Arab Emirates (75%)
- Malawi (74%)
- Botswana (73%)
- Sierra Leone (73%)
- United States of America (73%)
- Saudi Arabia (73%)
The study also shared other findings, such as the most generous countries in 2016, the countries where people donate the most money, and the country with the most volunteers. To see those results watch the video below!
In 2016, 148,000 people in 140 countries were surveyed as part of this poll.
