Brussels Attack Update: Suicide Bombers Identified, Investigation Continues

Just a day after three explosions shook the city of Brussels, the suicide bombers have been identified and one suspect is wanted in connection to the crime

BRUSSELS–The Belgian Federal Prosecutor identified the two brothers who carried out the act of being suicide bombers at the airport and at the metro station yesterday.

He said Ibhrahim El Bakraoui was responsible for the explosion at the airport and his brother, Khalid El Bakraoui was responsible for the attack at the Maelbeek metro station. Police are still looking for Najim Laachraoui and have issued a warrant for his arrest.

During Tuesday’s attacks 31 people were killed and 271 were injured. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack.

Next week a committee within the European Union (EU) will discuss airport security. The AVSEC committee,, which handles aviation security will discuss ways to reinforce security at the 800 European airports, including adding security checks at airport entrances.
