Congratulations Wei Zuo, an international student from China studying at the University of Findlay! She is the winner of the ISV Magazine Margaret W. Wong Scholarship.
After receiving nearly 400 applications and narrowing it down to just 10 finalists, a winner was selected for the ISV Magazine Margaret W. Wong Scholarship. This is a $500 scholarship awarded twice a year to two different international students.
Applicants had to submit an essay answering the following question: How will studying in the United States help you achieve your career goals?
“We enjoyed reading so many wonderful essays from students from all over the world with such amazing dreams and aspirations,” Carrie Circosta, Editor in Chief said. “It was truly inspiring to read them all.”
After careful consideration, the committee selected Wei Zuo from China studying at the University of Findlay as the winner for her essay titled, The Spirit of Americans.
“What we especially liked about Wei was that she not only talked about academics, but she fully immersed herself into American culture. She traveled with American students to the Dominican Republic and learned skills and lessons you just can’t learn in the classroom,” Circosta explained.
Wei will receive $500 that will be used toward her studies for the fall 2015 semester.
The ISV Magazine Margaret W. Wong Scholarship will be awarded again for the spring 2016 semester. Details will be released on how to apply in December 2015.Read Wei’s winning essay here!
