More Countries Eligible to Participate in H-2A and H-2B Visa Programs

These visas are for people to come to the U.S. to fill temporary agricultural and nonagricultural jobs. A few more countries were added to the list whose nationals would be eligible. Take a look!

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced on Friday, January 17 a few more countries whose nationals are eligible to apply for H-2A and H-2B visas. This announcement was after consultation with the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of State.

Here is the current list of countries whose nationals are eligible to apply:

The countries added to the list include:

  • Austria
  • Italy
  • Panama
  • Thailand

USCIS may approve H-2A and H-2B petitions for nationals of countries NOT on the list, only if it’s determined these applicants are an interest to the United States.

  1. i’m from Indonesia isued to worh with h2b visa,can get sponsor from employer in US? even Indonesia is not on the list for elligible country anymore? thank you.

  2. i am from india . india iss not eligible to perform in h2b visa program . can i still get a job in usa , if so hw can it be . can i be changed to h1b visa and applied .
